Bury St Edmunds-based Whiting & Partners completes merger with McMorran Accountancy

Independent chartered accountants and business advisers Whiting & Partners has expanded further with its second merger in six months.
The Bury St Edmunds-based firm has completed the takeover of McMorran Accountancy in Godmanchester, near Huntingdon, and Eaton Socon, near St Neots, bringing its total number of locations across the west of the region to 12.
Founder Richard McMorran has retired following the merger, with the managers and staff of the business all transferring to Whiting & Partners and remaining at their current offices, in Post Street, Godmanchester, and at the Colmworth Business Park in Eaton Socon.
Mark Haydon, managing partner of Whiting & Partners, said the principal objective during the transition period was be to ensure the continuity of high levels of professional service and competitive fee rates.
“This merger will be beneficial to all clients not least as, in addition to the services available from McMorran Accountancy, Whiting & Partners offers specialist corporate finance and wealth management services,” he said.
“We are confident the existing managers and staff that clients are used to will also welcome the opportunity to further their careers in a larger organisation whilst continuing to serve the loyal customers.”
Whiting & Partners is thought to be among the oldest independent firms of chartered accountants in East Anglia.

Besides its head office in Bury and the new offices added as result of the latest merger, is also has staff in Mildenhall, King’s Lynn, Chatteris, Ely, March, Peterborough, Ramsey, St Ives and Wisbech.
