A annual charity shoot organized by Cobb Europe for teams from the poultry industry at High Lodge range at Darsham, near Yoxford, raised more than £7,000 towards East Anglian Air Ambulance.

“It was an evening event with 56 competitors in 14 teams from various parts of the poultry industry,” said John Vincent, production director of the Colchester-based company.

“The evening took the form of a combination of sporting stands and a team flush for teams of four, followed by a barbecue meal and the traditional raffle for prizes generously donated by suppliers and competitors.

“It was a very tight competition with only a point separating the individual winner from the runner-up. The team event was won only on count back. John Bidwell and the High Lodge team were a huge help and organisation of the event was superb. It has become an annual event which we’ll definitely repeat in 2015.”

This year the individual winner was Ben Beavis from P D Hook, and the winning team was the Cobb production team consisting of Jimmy Lambert, Allen Lambert and Marc Lappin, from Cobb’s farm complex at Bawdeswell, and Martin Spooner, from the company’s farm near Stoke Ferry.
