A travel agency in Suffolk has been shortlisted as one of the best in the British Isles by industry publication Travel Trade Gazette (TTG).

The Claydon branch of Travel Stop, which also has branches in Hadleigh and Elmswell, has been selected as one of the top five high street agencies in the East of England.

It is one of 95 finalists across 19 categories from which winners will be announced in April next year, alongside a UK and Ireland Top 50 list. More than 900 agencies and branches entered the awards this year.

Travel Stop founder Bridget Keevil said: “I was thrilled when my Hadleigh office was the winner of the East England Travel Agency of the Year 2017. Therefore, you can only imagine my delight to learn that my Claydon office had been shortlisted for the same award for 2018.”

The shortlists were selected by a panel of 60 travel suppliers including airlines, tour operators, cruise lines and car hire providers.

TTG editor Pippa Jacks said: “Now in its third year, our Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative takes us the length and breadth of the country to uncover stories of brilliant agents going the extra mile for their customers, giving great value, and serving their communities.

“With extremely stiff competition once again this year, any high street agency that has made it on to the shortlist should be extremely proud.”
