An Essex facilities management firm has opened its own specialist training academy.

Colchester-based Cloudfm’s new training base, at Severalls Business Park, is thought to be an industry first.

The £75m turnover firm provides building maintenance services for large multi-site organisations across the restaurant, retail, and education sectors, including well-known brands such as Prezzo, PizzaExpress, KFC, Karen Millen and Wolseley. Sporting legend Graham Gooch, whose cricket academy is based at the home of Essex County Cricket Club, The Cloudfm County Ground in Chelmsford, cut the ribbon.

Boss Jeff Dewing said the new academy would take the firm’s training programme to the next level.

“We are a company that is changing the rules,” he said.“We need talented and driven individuals, the people behind the technology who provide expertise where the system requires it.”
