SUFFOLK-based sports equipment specialist Harrod UK has supplied the goals and team shelters for a major international women’s hockey contest, which has been held in England for the first time in its 18 tournament history

The Samsung FIH Champions Trophy, staged in Nottingham, saw the England team achieve an opening day victory over reigning champions, and eventual winners, Argentina, and close with a win over Germany in the bronze medal play-off match.

Lowestoft-based Harrod UK, which is the official equipment supplier to England Hockey, supplied a total of five integral-weight goals and two curved team shelters, plus an officials’ shelter, for the event which also incorporated the Men’s Four Nations Series and a Wembley Legends match.

Usually supplied in red, the goals were sprayed blue for the tournament in honour of the sponsor, Samsung.

Harrod UK sales and marketing director Les Saunders said: “Such a high profile event deserves the best possible equipment, and we were delighted to be involved.”
