Fast-growing Suffolk law firm Gotelee Solicitors has held a celebration to mark the size of its workforce passing the 100 mark.

Gotelee, which was founded in 1880 and today offers a full range of personal and business legal services from offices in Ipswich, Felixstowe and Hadleigh, has invested heavily in recent years in recruting a new generation of lawyers and support staff – largely from the local area.

Chief executive Alistair Lang said: “Gotelee prides itself on being deep rooted in the community and a key element of that approach is to be a sustainable business investing for the future and the local community.

“In addition to our various client services and charitable support, the nurturing of local talent is a key ingredient in that mix. We are enthusiastic recruiters and want to grow our own lawyers of the future from our own backyard.

“What could be a better indicator of a sustainable business than providing career opportunities for the next generation?”

Mr Lang added: “Since the dark days of the recession, many businesses have been ultra-cautious about investing. Gotelee has taken a slightly different tack and over the last three years has invested heavily in our next generation of lawyers and support teams.

“It’s fantastic to mark January 2016 as the latest milestone in our ambition to have the strength in depth to continue providing a high quality legal service to our clients in Suffolk.”
