SAFFRON Walden-based David Rule is celebrating after qualifying as a Financial Service Authority-authorised mortgage adviser.

Mr Rule, who has been working as a trainee and paraplanner for AC Wealth Management in Saffron Walden, is now embarking on the next stage of his career as an adviser.

He is looking to develop his own client portfolio, particularly amongst local estate agents and other professional practices.

“Whilst the housing market may be down in terms of sales, many people are reviewing their mortgage options at the moment in search of a better deal,” he said.

“I am also pleased to be working with what is termed an independent firm - which means we can give whole of market advice because we are not tied to any one provider or range of products. Many estate agents who used to offer in-house mortgage advice have stopped doing so - and that's an opportunity for me, working in a directly-authorised firm, to fill that need.”

David studied at Saffron Walden County High School and worked in manufacturing and then as an electrician. Before joining AC Wealth Management, he managed a local data scanning company.

He lives in Saffron Walden with his partner Ellie and is a keen sportsman. He enjoys skiing, shooting and squash. He is learning to fly fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.
