DEAN Harvey has been appointed operations manager at Bruisyard-based national gritting services company Ice Watch.
Mr Harvey, who was formerly operations manager for a courier in Ipswich, heads up an expanding team, with 10 new site operatives and office staff joining the company to meet increased demand.
Managing director Paul Bowling said: “Fortunately Dean joined us in time to help with the hectic period during February when snow and icy conditions affected most of the country. This has turned out to be an unusually cold winter and many of our teams have worked through December, January and into February with very few breaks.
“There was even snow in October. Our full arsenal of gritting equipment, snow blowers and a digger was needed to keep paths, car parks and school playgrounds clear of ice. As salt stocks ran low, Dean drove long distances, night and day, to keep all areas supplied.”
