IPSWICH and London-based marketing group Jacob Bailey Ltd has announced a new addition to its group of agencies with the launch of White Space Public Relations.

The group, which opened the doors of its new direct-to-design agency Vitamin Creative last November to meet the needs of start up and small businesses in the county, said with an increasing demand for PR from clients and other businesses in the area, it made “strategic sense” to offer a complete public relations service through the agency.

Managing director Shaun Bailey said: “With the advent of digital channels such as blogs and social networks and with the smarter use of SEO, public relations has become increasingly more targeted, easier to track and most importantly more accountable, making it more aligned with the group's core principles.”

Dean Wales, a previous employee of Jacob Bailey and later a freelance public relations consultant at the agency, is heading up White Space Public Relations as public relations director.

Mr Wales left Jacob Bailey to take up the post of marketing and communications manager at Business Link Suffolk and went on to set up his own consultancy after the Business Link network was regionalised.

Mr Wales said: “Public relations is a business function and has to be treated and executed as such. Understanding this with respect for how the media operates and keeping ahead of digital channels is vital to the success of PR campaigns.

“With new online applications offering ways to plan and analyse coverage better and exciting new digital means of promotion, It's a new age for PR and we're looking forward to offering a fresh, level-headed and accountable approach to public relations for clients”

White Space Public Relations' client portfolio includes new clients such as Knight Developments, Pigeon Holdings Ltd and BAA Southampton.
