GIPPING Construction, based at Baylham, near Ipswich, has marked the start of its new financial year by announcing more than 4million of new contracts, including a 2.4m joint venture development in Braintree and works for a regular client in Harwich.
And the company says the 12 months to November 30 represented its eight successive year of increased turnover and profitability, despite a “very difficult” trading environment.
Contracts completed included the design and construction of a new 10,000 sq ft office block in Bury St Edmunds, the restoration of fire damaged Grade II-listed cottages at Weeting, near Brandon, a major church extension in Basildon and civil engineering work at a refiner in Harwich.
Managing director Chris McEwen praised the Gipping team saying the company’s success was “the result of the commitment by every employee.”
He added that he anticipated trading conditions for the construction industry remaining tough in the foreseeable future, but with the Gipping team “offering value and service” he believed the company would continue to expand.
