REGIONAL law firm Birketts has officially launched its 150th anniversary celebrations, which will see good causes across East Anglia benefit from fund-raising efforts by its staff.

All of the firm’s partners and staff are getting involved in campaign to raise £150,000 for charities across the East of England.

In Ipswich the firm has chosen St Elizabeth’s Hospice to benefit while the firm’s Chelmsford office will split the proceeds from its activities between the Essex Air Ambulance and the Sick Children’s Trust.

The firm’s Norwich office is supporting the Big C while its Cambridge office is supporting The Rosie Hospital Campaign.

To start the year-long programme of events, the firm invited Sarah Archer and Gemma Holland from St Elizabeth’s Hospice to a bake sale at the firm’s Ipswich office to talk to staff and explain the work of the hospice, share ideas for fundraising events and answer questions.

Birketts senior partner Nigel Farthing said: “We are delighted to be able to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.

“We are very conscious of the valuable service that St Elizabeth’s Hospice provides to the people in East Anglia and over the next year many of our partners, lawyers and support staff are planning to get involved in events to raise as much money as possible.”
