REGIONAL law firm Prettys is opening its doors to the local community with an offer of free legal advice clinics.

The sessions, available from November 7 to 11, are in support of National Pro Bono Week, which highlights the contribution of legal professionals across the country through the provision of legal assistance to a variety of groups, without charge.

Prettys is running the free clinics in addition to year-round pro bono and corporate social responsibility activities.

These include supporting the homeless, providing sponsorship for local hockey player and Olympic hopeful Harry Martin; offering continuing support to Ipswich Art Gallery and participating in a mentoring scheme at both Anglia Ruskin University and the Suffolk School for Social Entrepreneurs.

Fiona McMutrie, who is responsible for Prettys’ corporate social responsibility programme, said: “The economic climate continues to be difficult and money is tight for all groups in the community. We want to lend our support and so welcome enquiries from private as well as corporate clients to discuss their legal queries with us.”

The firm’s National Pro Bono Week clinics are open to individuals, businesses, charities and non-for-profit organisations.

To attend one of the clinics, call Alice Bowkett on 01473 298222 or email abowkett@prettys.co.uk to arrange an appointment. Sessions will last up to 30 minutes and will be held at Prettys’ offices in Ipswich and Chelmsford.
