THE construction industry celebrated some of the best building work in the region at a black tie event on Friday.
Around 250 guests from the construction industry gathered for the annual Local Authority Building Control (LABC) East Anglia Building Excellence Awards event at the Stoke by Nayland Hotel and Golf Club.
Trophies were presented by national LABC president Mike Sansom and LABC chief executive Paul Everall.
The Best Social and Affordable Housing Project award went to a Havebury Housing scheme at St. Olaves Road, Bury St. Edmunds (by Rees Pryer Architects, Elliston Steady and Hawes builders).
Littlethorpe House (MLT architects), in West Suffolk, scooped the Best Sustainable Building title. The Best Community Building award went to Firstsite in Colchester (Rafael Vi�oly, Mace).
Meanwhile, West Suffolk based contractor Maple Building Services was presented with a Consistent Builder of Quality Award.
