BUSINESSES targeting growth within the region’s energy sector could benefit under a new 2.2million programme of support from the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR).

The initiative, part funded by the European Regional Development fund (ERDF), involves a development programme for small and medium-sized firms across the low carbon energy industries.

John Best, chief executive of EEEGR, said: “New opportunities in offshore gas, decommissioning, offshore wind and nuclear are collectively worth more than 50billion over the coming years.

“We are delighted to launch this new programme at a time when the business opportunities across the energy sector in this region are at their greatest.”

EEEGR’s enhanced supply chain and business improvement programme has been awarded to energy industry consultants Nautilus Associates Ltd.

The programme offers companies the chance to spend time with top business consultants without the fee. The Nautilus advisors are able to analyse a company’s current business situation and develop a bespoke action plan for a more prosperous future.

They are able to offer high level strategic business advice and can help find grants or funding and refer the business to valuable contacts within the supply chain.
