A COLCHESTER estate agent has been elected to a senior national post with the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).

Elisabeth Borg, senior consultant at independent estate agency Boydens, has been elected onto the presidential team at ARLA's divisional council as Members Advisory Forum (MAF) representative.

She will be responsible for feeding back the views of ARLA's 26 regional MAF representatives to the divisional council when it meets four times a year.

Ms Borg joined Boydens 20 years ago and has played an important role in its expansion from its Colchester base to incorporate branches in Frinton, Kelvedon, Braintree and Sudbury, all offering a wide range of property services.

She said: “I have been involved with ARLA for many years and have always been fully committed to the organisation's aims. ARLA membership offers tenants and landlords peace of mind in that they know they are dealing with a lettings agency which abides by ARLA's exacting professional standards.

“In my new role, I will be responsible for feeding back grass-roots views on all sorts of issues so that the divisional council is aware of how ARLA members are thinking at a local level. It's a demanding challenge but one which I am very grateful to be presented with.”
