Members of Essex and Suffolk Farm Women’s Club got to try out their sausage-making skills at a recent visit to Jimmy’s Farm at Wherstead, near Ipswich.

The club has been very active over the last few months, taking part in a series of events. Members took a boat trip on the River Stour at Sudbury, dropping in at the River Stour Trust visitor centre and enjoying a picnic.

They enjoyed a very informative talk at Warner’s Textile Archive at Braintree, where they got to view its collection of silks and velvet. They also got to visit Pauline Mattin, a club member with a shop display in her garden showing memorabilia of days gone by. and a home full of collections and displays.

Meanwhile, Langham Ladies WI was re-launched on Thursday, July 13. Further meetings have been arranged every second Thursday of the month to promote friendship within the Langham and District community. It hopes to attract younger members to the group.
