Essex Chambers of Commerce is planning to celebrate the county’s great diversity of food and drink with an inaugural event.

Essex Business Food Festival takes place at Writtle University College near Chelmsford on Friday, September 28, from 9am and 5pm.

It will feature a variety of exhibitors ranging from small artisan producers to national and international household names, and a networking breakfast and lunch.

Jo Fairley, one of the founders of Green and Blacks, will explain how it developed its brand into a household name, and the Great Essex Food Debate will look at what may happen to the food industry and what challenges or opportunities local producers face. Michelin star chef Chris Galvin of Galvin Green Man at Great Waltham, Chelmsford, will be at the event, showing how raw ingredients produced in Essex can be turned into a superb meal.
