Essex: Barclays has hosted a dinner at its global headquarters in London for 15 partners of Essex law firm Ellisons.
The firm, which has offices in Colchester, Clacton, Frinton, Dovercourt and Ipswich, is this year celebrating its 250th anniversary and has banked with Barclays throughout that time.
The dinner was hosted by Barclays relationship director Steve Webb. During the evening, Jane Galvin, Barclays’ eastern region managing director, presented Guy Longhurst, managing partner at Ellisons, with two framed ledgers of their founder, William Mason, from the Barclays archive dating back to 1784.
Barclays’ corporate director for East Anglia, Matthew Peek, said it was an incredible achievement for a firm to have been in business for so long, and remarkable that it continued to look forward while still retaining the importance of its heritage.
