Hilary Collins, the managing director of award-winning Colchester-based PR consultancy, Big Wave PR will be walking 286 miles over cliffs, beaches and rocks around the Cornish coastal path to raise funds for Gt Ormond Street Hospital.
Hilary Collins’ journey will take her from Bude to Plymouth in a mammoth journey.
The Big Wave PR managing director’s daughter, Ciara Collins-Allen, 12, has been under Great Ormond’s Street’s care since she was just a few weeks old.
She has returned to the hospital every few months for laser treatment on a birthmark in her throat which restricted her breathing.
She said: “I’ve always wanted to repay the amazing staff at Great Ormond Street for saving my daughter’s life. Her journey to recovery is a long one, so I think it’s only fitting my fundraising effort is a long journey too.”
The fundraising walk will raise funds for the dermatology unit which needs thousands of pounds for new specialist lasers.
