The annual turkey sale from Writtle College has been launched and orders are now being taken.
It is the third year that Writtle College has reared KellyBronze turkeys, 150 of which roam freely at its Sturgeons Farm. They arrived over the summer to be fattened up for Christmas. They are bred in Danbury by Paul Kelly, who was granted an honorary doctorate degree at Writtle earlier this year.
“Hopefully some of these students will become KellyBronze farmers in future years and have their own flocks of our unique turkeys,” he said.
To order, call 01245 424244, or email barbara.taylor@writtle.ac.uk.
