The owner of a Suffolk care farm and animal shelter which has been left homeless said she felt the heart of the farm had been ripped out as the donkeys left for a temporary home on Thursday (June 28).

Jann Turner of French’s Care Haven and Care Farm has spent 11 years in Hadleigh and is desperately seeking a new home to rent for the animals, including grazing and outbuildings. She needs 13 acres and a barn within a 20 radius of Hadleigh.

She has come to the end of her notice to leave in June, but has been given an extra two weeks by the landowners. She needs help with transporting 12 elderly and sick horses and ponies on July 14 and 15.

“It felt very strange not having the donkeys in our barn munching away, it already feels like the heart of our farm has been ripped out. There has got to be someone who will help us in this county surely,” she said. If you can help, contact jann.turner@hotmail.co.uk or 07747 755556.
