CHELMSFORD-BASED construction company Galliford Try Partnerships, has recruited 10 new management trainees from the region.

Sam Clarke and Alex Cable are training as quantity surveyors, Ross Fernee, Stuart Boreham and Amir Abed as site managers and Katie Goodall as a design and build co-ordinator.

Jamie Firman, Conor Storkey, Daniel Tappin and Adam O'Donnell are management trainees. Over the next two years, they will spend six month spells in surveying, production, estimating, and design and build to see where they are best suited in the long term.

Most join after their 'A' Levels or year 1 of the National Diploma in Construction and are continuing their studies on day release at either Chelmsford College, South East Essex College in Southend or Barking College. Mr Abed is carrying out work experience as part of his sandwich degree course at Anglia Ruskin University.

Human resources manager Georgina Taylor said it was “vital” they invested in future managers in order to continue to effectively manage and grow the business.

The firm employs around 190 people from its headquarters in Rainsford Road, Chelmsford.
