Gareth Mead, a former BBC Radio Suffolk journalist has been crowned Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards 2008.
Gareth Mead, a former BBC Radio Suffolk journalist has been crowned Outstanding Young Communicator of the Year at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards 2008.
The 27-year-old began his career at the station, based in his home town of Ipswich, in 1997.
He now works at financial, corporate and investor communications consultancy Abchurch Communications.
The winners of the CIPR awards were announced at a dinner at the London Hilton in Park Lane, compered by Channel 4 news anchor Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
CIPR president Elisabeth Lewis-Jones said: “This is a fantastic achievement and Gareth is to be congratulated.”
Mr Mead, an account director at Abchurch, said: “I am delighted to have been given this accolade. To be recognised by the industry is a tremendous honour and a testament to the investment that Abchurch makes in its people.”
