Home furnishings specialist Glasswells has invested £150,000 in extending and refurbishing the popular Place to Eat restaurant its its store in Bury St Edmunds.

The project, part of Glasswells’ 70th anniversary celebrations, has included the addition of a new conservatory-style extension, providing 22 more seats and allowing a new lay-out offering a variety of seating options including bar chairs, bench seating and upholstered tub chairs.

The mix of natural materials used includes a new quartz-topped servery with a chilled Italian Patisserie to display the freshly made cakes on offer.

Kevin Robertson, sales drector, said: “Glasswells has always prided itself on being forward thinking and moving with the times by offering the latest furnishing options for our customers and this is reflected in the store environment.

“The refurbishment has been a major investment and is the start of a rolling program of updating the Bury St Edmunds store. And, whilst the environment in the restaurant has been updated and improved for our customers, our menu and ethos of locally sourced, freshly prepared food remains the same.”
