A SHOPPING arcade in the East of England has beaten off competition from some of the world’s finest retail centres to win a global industry marketing award.

Grand Arcade, in Cambridge, won the Advertising Effectiveness award at the International Council of Shopping Centres’ Best-of-the-Best Awards in Las Vegas for its “Architects of Fashion” advertising campaign.

The campaign, which marked Grand Arcade’s launch and first Christmas, was recognised not only for its creative content but for its effectiveness in appealing to shoppers.

Lidia De Luca, marketing manager of Grand Arcade, said the award was “an incredible achievement” for the centre “in the face of competition from many of the biggest and the best centres in the world”.
