BURY ST EDMUNDS-BASED brewer Greene King says it is planning to sell off around 150 of its pubs which are “not core” to its estate.
A spokesman for the company said: “There is a sale of around 150 pubs, most of which are freehold, most of which are tenanted, most of which are in the south of England, which is planned, but a timescale has not been set.
“We are not in a position to name the pubs involved at this time.
“Greene King has a track record of both buying and selling pubs, ie it's not just playing the numbers game, and whilst they are very good properties, they are not core to Greene King's overall estate.”
