Hadleigh’s Year of the Sheep is being launched at this year’s Hadleigh Show and is the theme for the show catalogue cover.

Seven local primary schools took part in a competition to pick the best cover design for the catalogue.

A picture by Isaac Toombs from Hintlesham & Chattisham CEVCP School, pictured with head Mrs Justine Davies, scooped the prize.

Judges were particularly impressed with the way Isaac had followed the brief, using plenty of bright colours, making sure the sheep takes centre stage over the other show animals and indicating the theme of a year by using a circular design, while still leaving room for the text which has to be added later to the cover by the printers.

The 176th Hadleigh Show is on Saturday, May 16, at Holbecks Park, Hadleigh. The top 30 catalogue cover entries will be on display in the Education Tent. Early bird tickets can be booked in advance at www.hadleighshow.co.uk. Family tickets cost £24.
