Essex machinery manufacturer PLF International has underlined its position as a world leader in vacuum powder filling technology by securing its sixth major project in New Zealand.

Harwich-based PLF’s success in the country, working in partnership with its long-standing agent there, Relco, reflects strong demand for New Zealand milk in China.

As a result, licenses are being granted to milk formula producers exporting to China, where the integrity of the product is critical.

PLF has also invested in a small fleet of trucks which feature the company’s branding and will be used by project managers on various sites using PLF equipment.

Ian Hillaby, sales director at PLF, said: “Our powder filling equipment is consistently specified due to its gentle and safe filling application, which eliminates product breakdown or the chances of contamination from an auger.

“We have already designed and project managed the largest canning line in China, so our reputation with investors is incredibly good.

“This is now being reflected in recent orders for turnkey lines, elevating us to be the leading provider of milk formula filling lines in the country.”

PLF International, founded in 1994,is a worldwide market leader in vacuum powder filling technology, with customers including global brands in the food, pharmaceutical and beverage sectors.
