HELEN Young has been appointed the new food skills manager at Otley College.She gained a degree in food nutrition and health from Chester University and has spent the majority of her career working as a technical manager for a variety of firms.
HELEN Young has been appointed the new food skills manager at Otley College.
She gained a degree in food nutrition and health from Chester University and has spent the majority of her career working as a technical manager for a variety of firms.
Her role at Cranswick Country Foods gave her the opportunity of working in Belgium and Italy and she ahs also worked for various other big brands including Grampian Country Foods, Northern and Gott Foods.
She has been living in Suffolk since August 2006, and said she was looking forward to her new role at Otley.
“My job is to manage all FoodSkills courses, develop manufacturing and industry links with local firms and help manage a GNVQ work placement service,” she said.
“The department has been steadily growing since opening seven years ago and I am looking forward to playing an active role in its continued development.”
