HIRANYA Jayasinghe is set to become one of the youngest students in the history of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales to qualify as a chartered accountant.
The 21-year-old, of Chelmsford accountancy firm Bird Luckin, took the institute's AAT-ACA fast track route and has passed all her exams.
She has been mentored by the firm's training director Alan Radford and has worked in all areas of the firm including audit and tax. She has also been able to work on a forensic accounting assignment.
As an institute student careers adviser, she visits local schools and colleges to promote the ACA, the internationally-respected accountancy qualification, and careers in chartered accountancy.
“When I entered the profession, I had no idea what it would involve. It is a real privilege to be able to help clients improve the running of their business, and cultivate good working relationships in the process,” she said.
