Lowestoft: Self-catering holidays specialist Hoseasons has honoured two sites on the Suffolk-Norfolk border at its 10th annual awards evening.

The Waveney River Centre at Burgh St Peter was named Best Lodge Escape in the East of England while the Broadland Holiday Village at Oulton Broad was named as the region’s Best Relax and Explore destination.

Hoseasons stages the event to showcase the best of its holiday park and lodge sites across the UK.

Picking up the award for Broadland Holiday Village at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, in Brighton, Louise Hall, group operations manager, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to win this award.

“Every member of the Broadland Holiday Village team is dedicated to making sure our customers have a great holiday experience, so it’s fantastic to know their hard work is appreciated. We love what we do and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more guests for what we hope will be another great year ahead.”

The awards come just weeks after Hoseasons announced it had enjoyed its fifth record summer in a row with bookings up 5% across its entire UK portfolio.

“Winning these awards means Broadland Holiday Village and Waveney River Centre are among Britain’s most popular and successful holiday locations,” said Simon Altham, managing director of Hoseasons, who presented the awards.

“The standards set by these parks are exactly what we have in mind when we talk about offering our customers a better place to stay, and we wish them all the best for another successful year in 2016.”

The awards are broken down into eight UK regions and presented to Hoseasons destinations that have achieved the highest scores in customer satisfaction surveys.
