BURY ST EDMUNDS brewer Greene King has appointed Ian Durant to the board as a non-executive director with effect from Friday . He will also become a member of the audit committee.

BURY ST EDMUNDS brewer Greene King has appointed Ian Durant to the board as a non-executive director with effect from Friday . He will also become a member of the audit committee.

Mr Durant, 48, is currently engaged in the restructuring of SeaContainers Ltd as chief financial officer. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1983 and has served as finance director of Hongkong Land Holdings Ltd and Dairy Farm International Holdings Ltd, two listed companies in the Jardine Matheson group.

Chairman of Greene King Tim Bridge said they were looking forward to welcoming Mr Durant to the board, and believed his varied financial and commercial experience would be “a great asset”.

The appointment brings the number of non-executives on the board to six, including the chairman.
