Encouraging the business leaders of the future

The Institute of Director’s Suffolk branch has established three unique prizes for students of the Suffolk Business School at the University of Suffolk.

IoD Suffolk, the county branch of the national organisation, is an integral part of the business community in the county and it wishes to encourage business leadership among the younger generation.

“We hope that these awards will encourage current students and future graduates to consider joining the IoD to support their development as future business leaders,” said Graham Kill, chairman of IoD Suffolk.

“These prizes are unlike others made by the Suffolk Business School, as they are not just to reward academic success. The prizes are designed to reflect and promote the ethos of our university, showcase the skills and talents of its students who embrace the qualities identified on Institute of Directors Director Competency Framework.”

Each prize will take form of a £250 cash award. Each prize winner will also be profiled by the IoD with a view to securing networking and exposure to potential internship/employment opportunities.

The winner will also receive a complimentary 12-month student membership of the IoD.

The various awards and their criteria will be launched by the Suffolk Business School ready for the new 2018/19 academic year. Students will be able to nominate other students or themselves and a panel drawn from the Business Suffolk, IoD and the Students’ Union will determine the prize winners.

“We know that our students will be keen to compete for these new Awards,” says Professor David Collins, Dean of Suffolk Business School. “The IoD is known for its support of successful business leaders and we know that all of our students have the potential to become recognised for their skills, talent, enthusiasm and commitment via these new Awards.”
