ONE of Suffolk’s newest restaurants has reported trading levels well ahead of expectations during the three months since it opened its doors.
Callum Hewitt, director of the Aurora Bar and Restaurant on the Ipswich Waterfront, said: “We opened our doors at the end of November and since then we have been overwhelmed by the support and custom we have received. It’s been fantastic and so encouraging. We’re really grateful.”
Aurora was fully booked 20 times during the first three weeks and more than 30 local businesses held Christmas celebrations there.
New Year’s Eve was also completely sold out, including both a five-course tasting menu in the restaurant and pre-sale bar tickets.
Mr Hewitt added: “The good news is it’s shown no sign of slowing down. Our special Valentine’s menu ensured we were fully booked and we were at complete capacity for Mother’s Day.”
