Barnes Construction has hosted a topping-out ceremony on the site of the new £10.5million Arthur Rank Hospice it is building in Cambridge.
Ipswich-based Barnes began construction work on the 24 bed facility in April this year and it is hoped that the building will be operational in late 2016.
Topping out is a traditional ceremony marking the stage of construction at which a new a building reaching its highest point.
Dr Lynn Morgan, chief executive of the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, joined Matt Ramplin, site manager, and Mark Hart, a director at Barnes Construction, it getting a bird’s eye view of the development while celebrating with tea and cake.
