Recruitment company Sanctuary Personnel has been honoured at a national awards ceremony for its work with local councils.

Sanctuary, which employs more than 200 people at offices on the Ipswich Waterfront, was named Best Public Sector Recruitment Agency at the Recruiter Awards for Excellence, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The firm, a specialist recruiter for the health and social care sector, was also highly commended in the Best Candidate Care category.

James Rook, managing director, said: “It’s such an honour to win this award and I am so proud and fortunate to work with such amazing people who work exceptionally hard to support our clients with an unparalleled service.

“I think it really does say something to win Best Public Sector Recruitment Agency with such competition and for the second time running since this category was last featured in the awards in 2012.”

Sanctuary, which has an annual turnover of more than £80milllion, is a perferred supplier to more than 180 public sector organisations.

It was named Recruitment Agency of the Year at the same awards last year and also won the Large Business award at the EADT Business Awards.
