Two brothers from Ipswich have started an estate agency business with a view to “bringing the human element into the property industry”.

Richard and Shaun Collins launched Beagle Property in Ipswich this January and report after seven months the business is going well.

Shaun’s CV includes seven years in the Army and some time spent working as a project manager while Richard has worked for large national corporate agencies and local independent estate agencies across Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe.

But he says, he wanted to start his own business and take a different approach to what he had seen in most property firms.

“I was a bit disillusioned with the targets and figures approach of estate agency, so we’ve taken things back to basics,” he said.

“We opened the office in east Ipswich, where we have been born, educated and now work. We’re a family team and are bringing the human element into the property industry.”

Richard, whose mum also works at the agency part-time, says most of the business they have picked up has been through social media and word of mouth - “the biggest compliment you can get,” he said

He added: “We’ve achieved our eighth sale for this month and every month we’ve done better than what we had done the previous month - we are going from strength to strength. Most of the business is for properties within about a mile and half of our office and we intend to grow out from this.”
