Ipswich Building Society and Abellio Greater Anglia are supporting a new show from regional theatre company Eastern Angles.

The Ipswich-based company specialises in celebrating local history and heritage, and its new production, Somewhere in England, focuses on the wartime of experiences of American servicemen in East Anglia.

Eastern Angles relies on a combination of Arts Council funding, local authority grants and business sponsorship, with the Somewhere in England tour being sponsored by regular corporate supporters Ipswich Building Society and Abellio Greater Anglia.

As a result, local audiences in village halls, community centres, arts centres and theatres will be able to experience professional theatre on their doorstep.

Peter Meades, media manager at Abellio Greater Anglia, said: “We’re once again pleased to be supporting Eastern Angles. Our partnership with the theatre company reflects our similar aims in serving communities across the Eastern region, and we wish them every success with their spring tour.”

Paul Winter, chief executive at Ipswich Building Society, added: “We are delighted to support the forthcoming Somewhere in England spring tour, once again working with Eastern Angles.

“As the tour will visit many of our branch towns we are keen to ensure our members benefit from the partnership, with plans in place for special events and access.”
