Barnes Construction has completed a £1.2million contract with M&D Developments to extend the Shire Hall building in Bury St Edmunds, formerly offices for Suffolk County Council, to build four luxury apartments.
Other Barnes projects in the town that are due for completion over the coming months are the construction of the new £2m sports hall and cricket pavilion at the Victory Ground ? a joint venture between South Lee School and Bury St Edmunds Cricket Club ? and a new 10,000sq m returns building and warehouse in Kempson Way for long-established Bury firm Sealey Power Products.
The three-storey project involves a new warehouse facility of nearly 9,500sq m and around 5,500sq m of external hard standing and car parking areas.
Both the Sealey and South Lees contracts represent repeat business for Ipswich-based Barnes.
