INDEPENDENT financial services company Stan Gaskin Ltd, part of SG Wealth Management, has launched a new stockbroking service.

Working with Norfolk stockbroker St John Agnew, the Ipswich-based firm is now offering a full stockbroking service to its clients. complementing its existing expertise in tax planning and investment management.

Neil Shillito, one of the founding directors of SG Wealth Management, said: “Personal service is key and our business success is founded upon it. Being able to offer a stockbroking facility is a natural progression of our business development.

“Unlike larger firms that often provide a process-driven stock selection to clients and offer little by way of personal service, St John Agnew is able to work closely with clients and respond to their changing needs. He has an impressive track record on the markets and we are delighted that he will be working with us.”

In addition to fundamental research, Mr Agnew uses a technical analysis programme he has developed over many years to refine and support his choice of stocks.

Mr Agnew said: “Trading happens very quickly. Time is of the essence on the markets and through brokers Credo Capital Plc in London, I can trade stocks efficiently and electronically without unnecessary paperwork. Clients are also able to see their share portfolio with real-time pricing online at any time.”

He added: “The world is changing and many stocks are benefiting from this in the UK and abroad. There has been a shift of economic power – with China, India and Brazil coming to the fore in the emerging markets.

“We could be at the beginning of a major, long term, bull market in equities and now is the time to get on board. History tells us that many investors are not aware that things are going well until the end of an up-turn.”

SG Wealth Management, the parent company of Stan Gaskin Ltd, is based in Norwich and manages client assets of more than 200million.

Founded in 2001 by Stephen Girling and Neil Shillito, it was the UK’s first financial advice firm to provide financial services on a non-commission, wholly transparent basis, leaving it well placed to take advantage of the changes in the law ending commission-based advice next year.
