A print firm is celebrating after scooping an environmental accolade.

Fuller Davies, based in Ipswich, has achieved Carbon Balanced Publication Printer, which involves offsetting carbon emissions through the World Land Trust (WLT) in partnership with PaperlinX, for the second year.

It has awarded all of its customers who have balanced over two tonnes of CO2 with a certificate from the World Land Trust detailing the achievement. Fuller Davies registers every job as standard and has balanced a total of 520 tonnes of CO2, preserving 43,800m2 of land in its first year alone. This is the equivalent of taking over 130 cars off the road each year or preserving an area larger than five football pitches, it says.

The firm, which is conscious of its carbon footprint, has already achieved full Forest Stewardship Council accreditation and ISO 14001 status as well as the Suffolk Carbon Charter Silver award.

Managing director Neil Stones said: “We are extremely proud of our green credentials and we are committed to saving carbon on all of our printing and mailing services and to help our customers minimise the impact they have on the environment every time they place an order. A certificate is an important statement. It helps them to demonstrate their commitment to reducing carbon impacts to their clients.”

The World Land Trust is an international conservation charity which tackles climate change through projects that both offset carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and conserve biodiversity.
