Dragons fail to leap for Jo’s business
Businesswoman and inventor Jo Kerley failed to tame the millionaires in BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den on Sunday- but she did come away with one offer of support.
The five dragons, all millionaire successes in their own right, didn’t rush to invest in her PlayAway children’s fun holiday luggage.
The special luggage features games and cartoon characters based on endangered species.
One dragon even thought her Amy Jo the Albatross character was a seagull.
Piers Linney said seagulls weren’t endangered.
One by one, four of the dragons declined to become involved, Linney himself, Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones and Kelly Hoppen.
However Duncan Baannatyne did make her an offer, of £60,000 for 35% of the business, but with conditions attached regarding the financing of the business.
The programme was recorded previously and the results had to be kept confidential by the hopeful participants until it was broadcast.
Jo Kerley revealed they had failed to reach an agreement with the Dragon since the programme but were still in touch with him regarding a possible involvement in the future as the business develops.
