Outgoing Radio Suffolk breakfast host Terry Baxter is to take on a new role in his home town.
He is to be the new chairman of the Ipswich Central BID (Business Improvement District) company, taking over from retailer William Coe.
It is a non-executive role, but he will be working closely with Ipswich Central chief executive Paul Clement to promote town centre businesses.
Mr Baxter, who steps down from the breakfast show at the end of next month, said: “I am delighted to be taking on such an important role for Suffolk’s county town.
“Ipswich Central has a dedicated and committed CEO, Board, staff and Management Group and I am excited at the prospect of working with them and the members.”
