Ipswich and Suffolk Small Business Association (ISSBA) has confirmed that the Anglia Business Exhibition, which takes place on May 15, will move back to Trinity Park Conference Centre in Ipswich, which hosted it until two years ago.

The decision was taken following the appointment of Samuel Stamp-Dod, managing director of Ipswich-based family firm VIP Balloons, as chair of ISSBA and after consultations with key sponsors and the ISSBA committee, organisers said.

Mr Stamp-Dod, who takes over from Roger Barcham who has been chairman for the last two years, praised his predecessor, saying he had done a “fantastic” job.

“I am delighted to become the new chairman of ISSBA. Our flagship event, the Anglia Business Exhibition, once again proved that Suffolk has some great businesses and ISSBA is just about that, supporting and encouraging small businesses to flourish. I will continue where Roger has left off, he did a fantastic job and we have a lot to thank him for,” he said.

Mr Barcham said the new chair had been a “loyal and hard-working” member of the committee for some years.

“I wish him every success for the future and know he will do a fantastic job in driving the future growth of ISSBA.”

Mr Stamp-Dod said the decision to move the Anglia Business Exhibition back to Trinity Park was taken “after lots of open discussions with our key sponsors, committee members and organisers”.

“We were all in agreement that we wanted to take the exhibition ‘back to basics’ but at the same time offer a professional event that established and small business owners could exhibit cost effectively. Also where visitors attending could meet local suppliers and experts who can provide business services and products that will help their businesses to grow.”

Key strategic partners include Suffolk County Council and Ipswich Borough Council.

Invest in Suffolk is sponsoring the showcase for the seventh year running.
