A fruit and vegetable grower has hit the heights after raising £5,000 from a 500 mile solo trek across the Pyrenees.
Jack Rosenthal, 67, of 30-acre Reckford Farm, Middleton, near Leiston, raised the funds for the oncology ward support group at Ipswich Hospital, which helped his daughter after she was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
“That is a very significant sum of money donated by the 140 supporters who sponsored my Pyrenean walk. At the outset I was doubtful if we could reach that sum but we have and I am very grateful to all of you, as will be the beneficiaries in the Somersham ward,” he said.
