JASON Smithers has been made senior manager in commercial banking for the Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest brands in Bury St Edmunds and the wider Suffolk region.

JASON Smithers has been made senior manager in commercial banking for the Royal Bank of Scotland and NatWest brands in Bury St Edmunds and the wider Suffolk region.

Mr Smithers is an experienced banker who is knowledgeable about the East Anglia market having undertaken a number of management roles for the bank across the region in its commercial banking division.

The division focuses on providing banking services to companies that turn over between £1million and £25million a year.

He joins the team in Bury from his previous role as business development director for RBS Invoice Finance in Cambridge.

He is married with two young girls. His passion is cricket, and he captains his local team in Thurston.

The bank's director of commercial banking for Suffolk Mark Spinks said he was “delighted” to announce his appointment.

“He achieved a lot in his time in RBS Invoice Finance and he will now look to pick up this momentum and continue to grow our business across not only Bury St Edmunds but also the wider East Anglia territory,” he said.
