Law firm Hewitsons has further strengthened its agricultural practice with the appointment of Jeanette Dennis from Taylor Vinters.

Jeanette, who has experience of running her family's farm for seven years while also practising law, will be working alongside David Hollest in Hewitsons' Saffron Walden office.

She said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to work across an impressive client base and I welcome the chance to work alongside David who I have known professionally for the last 15 years. My aim is to help farmers grow their businesses and work with clients to strive to increase profitability.”

Jeanette, who was raised on her family's farm in Swaffham, Norfolk, has extensive contacts in the farming community and is also secretary of the Cambridgeshire committee of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust. In her new role she will focus on farming clients, landed estates and food businesses.

Hewitsons was selected as a member of the new look NFU Legal Panel last month to provide support and professional guidance to farmers. The 16-strong panel was chosen after an intensive six-month selection process, initially involving 82 legal firms from all over England and Wales.

John Dix, Hewitsons managing partner, added: “We are delighted to announce Jeanette's appointment as a partner and she brings a huge wealth of experience to an already strong agricultural practice. These are exciting times for the firm coming on the back of our recent NFU tender win.”
