A COLCHESTER-based company which distributed a complete range of make-up and hair products for the Afro-Caribbean community has gone into administration.
A COLCHESTER-based company which distributed a complete range of make-up and hair products for the Afro-Caribbean community has gone into administration.
Visage International Partners Ltd, based at Severalls Business Park, was set up by managing director Peter Green and had been trading for five years.
It distributed Ultra Glow, Beauty Without Cruelty and Black by Design products to customers including supermarket chain Asda, and Aarhus, a large supermarket chain in Holland. It also supplied to a French distributor and a makeup artist distributor in America.
The company, which has always been based in Colchester, had a turnover of £1.6million. All its nine employees have been made redundant.
Accountants and business advisers PKF have been appointed as administrators.
Their corporate recovery experts are investigating the reasons for the company's collapse.

David Merrygold, corporate recovery partner at PKF East Anglia, said: “We are looking into the reasons behind the company's demise although undoubtedly a drop in retail sales has affected profitability. It is unlikely that a going concern sale will be achieved.”
