NEARLY 50 jobs have been saved with the purchase of Suffolk-based Frozen Herbs Ltd out of administration. The company, based at Langton Green, near Eye, called in administrators from BDO Stoy Hayward last month as a result of financial problems following a difficult trading period.

The company, based at Langton Green, near Eye, called in administrators from BDO Stoy Hayward last month as a result of financial problems following a difficult trading period.

It has now been sold as a going concern to the Dujardin Foods Group - a Belgian company with a subsidiary in the UK - so securing the jobs of 46 employees.

Geoff Kinlan, administrator, said: “The sale of Frozen Herbs Ltd is a great result, particularly as all 46 jobs have been transferred to the new company.

“Dujardin Foods is a leading producer of frozen vegetables, herbs, ingredients, and ready meals in Belgium and France with strong commercial organisations all over Europe.

“The group has extensive knowledge in herb processing, with processing plants in Brittany and Provence. They have a very strong commercial presence in the UK market through its subsidiary Rosemary & Thyme.”

Barry Smith, managing director of Rosemary & Thyme, added: “We are very confident that the business is well placed to succeed in the future.”
