Amy Starkey has been shortlisted in the Leadership category of the Leaders Under 40 Awards 2017.

The awards aim to find the most inspirational, innovative and talented leaders within sport from across the world every year, with winners announced at a ceremony in London on October 3.

Ms Starkey has been regional director of Jockey Club Racecourses’ East Region since September 2012, and is responsible for both racecourses at Newmarket, The Rowley Mile and The Adnams July Course, as well as Huntingdon, Market Rasen and Nottingham Racecourses. She first came to Newmarket in 2012 as managing director. Prior to that, she was managing director of Huntingdon and Kempton Park Racecourses.

It’s the first time anyone from The Jockey Club Group has been shortlisted in the category.

Jockey Club Racecourses chief executive Paul Fisher said: “We’re delighted Amy’s fantastic achievements at the Home of Racing and across all five racecourses in our East Region have been recognised in this way. It is credit to her leadership skills and the backing of her excellent team that she has been nominated for such a prestigious award.”
